About Oakstreet Financial
ROOTED, STEADY, AND BUILT FOR LEGACY.
A Legacy of Stewardship
In 1972, after returning home from Vietnam, David Eck’s father, Dave Sr., discovered that his uncle had sold him an overpriced whole life policy. If anything had happened, his young family would have been left unprotected. That betrayal sparked a lifelong mission to protect families from financial industry abuse and bring clarity to ordinary people.
Mentored by a fellow Army officer, Dave Sr. became licensed and launched a grassroots effort to teach families how money works. His simple, practical approach aligned with leaders like Art Williams, Larry Burkett, and Dave Ramsey, making financial wisdom accessible to everyday families.
Carrying the Mission Forward
Today, Oakstreet Financial continues that mission. We are Christian financial advisors based in Spokane, serving clients nationwide who want to align their wealth with timeless values.
More than fifty years later, Dave Sr.’s vision is carried on by his son David and the Oakstreet team. We provide principled guidance and personalized strategies that help clients live with greater purpose, generosity, and peace of mind.
Money is not an end in itself. It is a tool to serve life, family, and calling. That is why we help clients build portfolios and plans that support human flourishing and allow them to live and retire on purpose.
In 2019, Oakstreet partnered with Inspire Advisors, a national leader in Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) and ranked the number three Best Financial Advisory Firm for 2025 by USA Today and Statista. This partnership provides institutional-level tools, combined with our personal approach of long-term relationships built on trust and accessibility.

Built on Strong Foundations
The right partners make all the difference. At Oakstreet Financial, we work with leading firms that provide reliable custodial services, planning technology, and investment strategies. Each one has been selected with care to strengthen the advice and support we offer our clients.
Let’s work together.
What is a fee-only fiduciary firm?
A fee-only fiduciary is legally and ethically required to always put your best interests first. We do not receive sales commissions. This creates alignment with clients, keeps advice objective, and reduces conflicts of interest.
Do I need to be religious to work with you?
No. While our values are rooted in a Biblical worldview, we serve anyone who values thoughtful planning, principled investing, and long-term partnership. If you are looking for a trustworthy advisor who brings clarity and care to every decision, let’s talk.
What do you mean by principled advice?
Principled advice means making financial decisions based on truth rather than trends. It is guided by time-tested wisdom, a long-term perspective, and a Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) framework. We do not chase hype, compromise integrity, or simply tell you what you want to hear.
Can you work with clients outside the Spokane–Coeur d’Alene area?
Yes. While we are based in Liberty Lake, Washington, we serve clients across the Pacific Northwest and throughout the country. Most of our meetings are held over Zoom, and we support long-distance relationships with the same level of care as in-person meetings.
What kinds of clients do you typically work with?
We serve faith-driven individuals and families who value long-term relationships, clear communication, and a financial approach that reflects their values. Many come to us during life transitions such as retirement, career change, inheritance, or the desire to simplify and steward resources more intentionally.
