Ethical and Responsible Investing
Our investment philosophy begins by interviewing clients to identify their investment profile and insurance needs. The discovery process includes, but is not limited to, obtaining the customer’s age, investments, financial situation and needs, tax status, investment objectives, investment experience, investment time horizon, liquidity needs, risk tolerance, and current insurance information.
Next, based on the information collected, we make recommendations consistent with the best interests of the client. The proposal may be one-time or ongoing recommendations depending on the advisory type chosen by the client.
Options, futures and penny stocks are not a part of our investment philosophy.
In addition to recommending products and services that are suitable, we are bound by law as a fiduciary to act ethically and responsibly to manage assets for the benefit of our clients rather than for our profit.
We consider it a privilege and a joy to be trusted with such a vital part in our client's lives.
HOW IT WORKS
During the discovery meeting, we discuss your goals and objectives. We identify current and future financial challenges and opportunities. We ask you to fill out a simple, confidential questionnaire. The information gathered is used to create your personalized financial road map called the MoneyEdge.
Using the MoneyEdge as our guide, we analyze the data collected during Discovery to identify various solutions you may use to protect your family better and enhance your asset growth for the future. We use the information to help you develop your own customized plan to achieving financial peace.
Using the MoneyEdge, we present the results of our findings and where there are gaps we provide solutions and start implementing the plan. There could be several meetings depending on the complexity of your situation and time constraints. If possible, we will limit each session to 90 minutes or less.
We understand life is always in flux and it is essential to regularly review your financial roadmap together. These can be face-to-face meetings or via a web-conferencing technologies. We also offer a complimentary monthly email newsletter to keep you abreast of the latest developments in the financial world.
Impartial Financial Advice
Why is independence important?
In a profession based on objective advice, true independence offers many choices intended to benefit you, the client. Your choice of an independent financial professional is the first step in getting unbiased recommendations and impartial guidance based directly on your needs and goals.
What is an independent financial professional?
An independent financial professional is not an employee of an investment or financial services firm - they are an independent business owner. They have the freedom to structure their business in a manner that best serves their clients. An independent professional is much different from a captive representative who may work for firms that are conglomerates such as commercial banks, investment banks, or insurance companies.
What is an independent broker-dealer?
Just as you can choose your financial professional, the financial professional selects a broker-dealer to run their investment and advisory business through. Generally, an independent broker-dealer does not underwrite securities, have their proprietary funds, create research, or engage in investment banking.
An independent broker-dealer allows financial professionals to offer non-proprietary products, such as mutual funds or insurance products through a wide variety of companies. The broker-dealer generally provides services that include processing investment business, marketing assistance, practice management, and education. Also, a broker-dealer holds responsibility for regulatory compliance and adherence to securities laws designed to protect the investing public.
We chose to run our investment business through the independent broker-dealer Cambridge Investment Research, Inc.
When we decided to operate independently for all the reasons above, we chose to be a part of the Independent Financial Professionals team and Cambridge Investment Research because they are committed to the independent producer and believe in the entrepreneurial spirit of the financial professional.
Why Cambridge Investment Research?
They offer a vast menu of compliance-friendly programs, products, and services to enable the financial professional to customize an investment strategy designed to meet their clients' long-term financial needs.

How We Got Here
In 1972, after returning home from Vietnam, my dad learned his uncle had sold him an over-priced whole life insurance policy which would leave my mom and me destitute should something happen to him. Realizing he and countless others were being exploited, his passion became helping them avoid the same mistake.
Long before Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps my father, Dave Eck, Sr., became insurance and securities licensed.
Under the tutelage of a fellow Army officer, my father was licensed and started a lifelong campaign to teach families how money works. Over the years those same practical principles have been popularized by Art Williams, Larry Burkett, Dave Ramsey and others.
"I believe that through knowledge and discipline, financial peace is possible for all of us." - Dave Ramsey
Now, 46 years later, our team continues the tradition of helping our clients make educated decisions about their financial goals and teaching them how to protect their income if the unexpected should happen.
We're here for you. We deliver easy to understand financial solutions customized to match each unique situation. To learn if our services are a good fit for you or you have questions, give us a call.
